Veronica writes, "My son wanted to do something for memorial day. Yes we hung up a new American flag and proudly displayed it. Yes we discussed what it means, remembering soldiers killed in action versus honoring veterans on Veterans Day. But he wanted to do something. So he spent hours drawing and coloring a giant American flag in our driveway. He knew to put 13 stripes, one for each of the original colonies and 50 stars, one for each current state. He is proud to be an American, and knows that flag represents freedom and sacrifice." Comments | Permalink

Adair County Volunteer Fire Department volunteers were out in force Sunday accepting donations for the Crusade for Children. From left are: Eric Vanarsdale, Josh Phillips and Grant Loy. They will also be out next weekend, Friday from 3-8 and Saturday from 8-4pmCT. To make arrangements for a donation through the week, contact Charles Esch at 270-634-1690 for more details.
