Leslie Keltner, at left, Instructor, at the local Adair County Adult Education, gave a brief update on expanded services at the Columbia-Adair Economic Development Authority meeting Tuesday. The staff is reaching out, spreading the word that the agency is not just for the GED anymore, although that is a key service, helping people get their high school diplomas. They also offer assistance with computer literacy, resumes, and more. They hold classes, courses and one-on-one tutoring in person or virtually. The Columbia City Council held its second meeting of the month Monday evening to go over bids on the Splash Pad, a tractor, police vehicles and chimney removal and clean up at the Burkesville Street Park, newly named the Columbia Citizens Park.
